Adam and Eve bruised this world by their transgression. They sent creation into a downward spiral of sickness, sorrow, death and evil—made personal through the inherited war raging for each soul.
It breaks God’s heart.
His creation chose greed over generosity, flesh over purity, selfishness over love.
It hurts His holiness.
When you press your cheek against the brokenness of this world, your heart will weep. But the sin that devastates not only surrounds, it is within. You, my precious child, have inherited this black stain of sin. Weep for your own brokenness that wounds the holiness of God.
There is no escaping the pain that comes through life in a fallen creation. There is no escaping your part in shattering God’s perfection. There is no escaping the sin that you must wrestle down and surrender. There is no escape, but there is victory.
God extends grace through Jesus. When you repent and surrender, Jesus can free you from the penalty of sin and replace your ache for self with an ache for God.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.
