Page 83 – “Stay Pure” Unexpected Love: Digital Interactive Devotional and Bible Study

How can the young keep their way pure? Sin is deceptively enticing, pursuing with smooth talk and dangled bait. The foolish follow, like oxen to the slaughter, not knowing it will cost their life.

Be wise, my child. Culture has always lied, claiming everything is permissible. Culture has always failed to warn of the cost. Just because you want to doesn’t mean you should. Sexuality is not an appetite meant to be stirred or satisfied outside the safety of marriage. Do not delight in forbidden pleasures or meditate on temporal beauty. Both are fleeting.

Instead, make wisdom your intimate friend. The adulterer makes bold promises of fulfillment, but wisdom knows that all who partake leave empty and ashamed.

Welcome the Lord’s statues. Declare His rules with your lips. Delight in His testimonies. Meditate on His precepts. Do not forget His Word.

Guard your purity, according to the Word.

Seek the Lord with your whole heart and follow His commands. Store up His words in your heart, and you will not sin. Do not adulterate your love for the Lord.

Stay pure, my child.

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
