You flash his crooked grin. You wink his sassy eye. You laugh with similar abandon. You cherish his worn Bible and copy his disciplines. You mimic his tone, compassion, and prayers.
When Daddy works hard, you vow to become a hard worker. You never give up or settle because you are your father’s child. You imitate your father as he imitates our Father, learning to easily love, readily forgive, and willingly sacrifice.
Just like our Father. You connect with the Vine and develop His traits, exuding the sweet fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
These are not inherited. These are learned after time spent with Him.
You are our Father’s child.
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
